Game of Thrones Masters of Intrigue

Schemes are whispered. Loyalties shift. Power is up for grabs.

In Masters of Intrigue, players take on the roles of schemers and strategists from across Westeros, using bluffing, alliances, and betrayal to rise above their rivals. In each round of this trick-taking game, you’ll play cards representing the great Houses, choosing when to support the current power—or when to backstab and seize control for yourself.

Every decision counts: who you align with, when you betray, and how well you read your opponents. Hidden agendas, shifting allegiances, and clever timing are the keys to victory. With iconic Houses like Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and more in play, each game captures the ruthless politics of Westeros in under an hour. Quick to learn but rich in strategy, Masters of Intrigue is perfect for fans who crave sharp turns, bold plays, and unforgettable betrayals.

Play boldly, lie well, and remember—when you play the game of thrones, you win or you fall.

    How to Play

Build the Realm Deck, shuffle and deal out all the cards to the players. Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue is played over several rounds, known as chapters. Each representing a chapter in the stories of plotting, alliance-making, and power plays among the great houses of Westeros. One player is selected to be Hand of the King and they start the chapter with the first cycle of intrigue.

The Hand of the King selects a card and places it on the table. All other players must then choose if they play aligned with the lead house – by playing a card from the same house, or in rebellion – by playing a different house. Tricks are taken based on how many allied cards vs how many cards in rebellion are played, with your goal to be to collect points each cycle. Cycles of intrigue play until all cards are played, at which point scoring begins. The first player with the most points at the end of the game wins and is declared the King or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, of the Andols, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Protector of the Realm!

Easy to learn but rich in strategy watch out for special cards like the Master of Whispers, Master of Coin and the Master of Intrigue who can really change the game!

MASTERS OF INTRIGUE is a deceptively simple trick-taking game with deep strategic options. For our first game featuring Game of Thrones, we decided to keep a simple fun game night in mind. Enjoy stunning artwork from HBO series and a night of betrayal. Enjoy some unique twists like how long you can remain in power as Hand of the King, avoiding cards from your rival houses, while forcing your opponents into betrayal. This is the kind of game where friendships can be forged or lost in an evening.

Game of Thrones is one of many titles that RG is collaborating with WBDCP on as part of a multi-year agreement. There are several other games in development that will draw deeper on the 7 Kingdoms – pulling stories from Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon.
