Race to the Source.
Can Team Chosen outwit and outrun the Corrupt?
![]() Ages 9 and Up | ![]() 2-6 Players | ![]() 45 Minutes |
Iyanu must find the source, and uncover the truth of her divine heritage. But to do so she must cross the treacherous terrain filled with corrupt animals seeking to end her life. Together with her friends Biyi, Toye and her protector Ekun, they make the journey across the country.
Yorubaland:Wild Terrain is played in 2 phases – the terrain building phase, where you lay out the tiles for each space, each one with it’s own impact on movement for both Team Chosen and the Corrupt. In the second phase, the chase is on! Team Chosen must race to reach the Source before being captured. Help Iyanu and her friends reach the source safely.
How to play: Divide players into 2 teams and begin by unfolding the board and placing it in the center of the play area. Separate the Terrain Tiles and the Starting Tiles, mixing the Terrain Tiles and dividing them into 4 equal piles. Team Chosen first choses where to place the Source Tile and the Corrupt places the other starting tiles. Each player then alternates selecting a Terrain Tile and placing it on the board. Continue placing tiles until all the spaces are filled.
Once the terrain has been built, the chase is on! Beginning with Team Chosen, players select and declare which character (or animal) under their control they will move. Roll the two movement dice – one that defines the direction and the other that gives your speed. Move according to your roll and continue until the next player. Remember to take advantage of the Terrain Tile’s movement restrictions. If an member of the Corrupt lands on the same space as a member of Team Chosen they are captured and the player joins the Corrupt.
Team Chosen wins a minor victory if they get 1/3 members of Team Chosen to the Source, a strong victory with 2/3 members and the ultimate victory with all 3 reaching the Source safely. The Corrupt wins if they manage to capture all 3 members of Team Chosen.

About the IYANU Project
Designed by Brad Zander
Production by Resurrection Games
Artwork Courtesy of Lion Forge Entertainment
Story & Characters by Roy Okupe
Yorubaland: Wild Terrain is based on a classic game of “Tiger Tag” where players work to capture the other team and when you are captured you join the other team. This creates an asynchronous pattern making the difficulty level that much harder with each individual step. When playing this game for the first time, it’s easy to rush through the terrain building stage. Our advice is not to do that, as it has a major impact on who will win the chase and how fast it will go.
As a design team, we were drawn to Lion Forge Entertainment and Roy’s vision because they building a new world with purpose. Their commitment to authentic storytelling, diverse voices, and culturally rich universes aligns perfectly with how we design games: we want players to feel immersed, respected, and emotionally connected to what they’re exploring.
Iyanu is a powerful example of that philosophy, blending epic fantasy with real Nigerian history and mythology in a way that feels fresh and meaningful. Working with Lion Forge gave us the chance to translate that depth into interactive form, turning its characters, places, and artifacts into something players can touch, discover, and remember. That shared belief in representation, craft, and world-building is what made this partnership feel natural from day one.
As the series progresses we will explore additional titles to add to our initial slate. Sign up for our newsletter to be kept up-to-date about current projects and future release dates.
